A tri-color Bernedoodle is a the coat color with black, rust, and white coloring. Tricolor Bernedoodles may or may not have white on the face. A traditional tricolor Bernedoodle looks similar to a Bernese Mountian Dog. Tricolor Bernedoodles can have a full white mask or limited white. We offer tri-colors in size Large
We love our deep red Bernedoodle, Indy! Her and our sweet daddy Almonzo will be having their 1st litter Summer of 2025, where we will expect a merle/red mix! We offer this unique mix in size Mini!
Tuxedo Bernedoodles are the offspring of a Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle, so they are 50% Bernese and 50% poodle. Tuxedo refers to their colouring. A Tuxedo Bernedoodle is bi-colour black and white. They have a white chin, chest, tummy, four white paws and a white tip on their tail. Some have white that extends up their face and collar. We offer tuxedo in size large! Featured: A Granite Ridge Bernedoodles Puppy!
Parti Bernedoodles have a unique coat pattern consisting of at least 50% white, and a small percentage of another color. Typically grey, tan, or red.
Merle Bernedoodles: The white and gray patterns that appear on a black make them appear to have a blueish cast. These are called blue merles. Merle is a color combination in dogs' coats. It is a solid base color (usually red/brown or black) with lighter blue/gray or reddish patches, which gives a mottled or uneven speckled effect. Although most breeds that can have merle coats also typically have white markings (such as around the neck, under the belly, and so on), and often tan points (typically between the white and the darker parts of the coat), these are separate colors from the Merle; some dogs do appear completely Merle with no white or tan markings. Merle can also alter other colors and patterns besides the usual red or black.
Sable can have so much variation from dog to dog! At its core, it is a creamy tan/orange/blonde color with accents of darker hairs (mostly on their ears, and sometimes in other places as well). All sable coats “clear,” which describes the way their coats lighten and change from puppyhood to becoming an adult. This change happens because when they are born most of their little hairs have dark tips on them (even the hairs that are not truly dark all the way to the base). Then as their coat grows out, and especially after getting their first haircut, all those tips are trimmed off revealing their true color. We offer Sables in size large! Your Bernedoodle will need to be kept on a regular grooming schedule for a clean, healthy coat! At Granite Ridge Bernedoodles, we recommend getting your pup groomed every 6-8 weeks. Below is what your doodle's grooming schedule should look like!
Full body cut: Every 6-8 weeks
Full face trim: Every 2 weeks
Bath: Once per month
Nail trim: Once per month ( especially if they have dew claws)
PRO-TIP: When you have a puppy, make sure to get them used to the scissors, bath, and nail trimming right away! At Granite Ridge Bernedoodles, we begin to desensitize our puppies to grooming as early as 1 week old to help prepare them for it in the future!
Bernedoodles are considered a mild to moderately active breed, so it's important that their daily exercise needs are met! Here are some great physical activities that Bernedoodles LOVE!
1. Long walks
2. Hiking
3. Dog parks
4. Trips to the pet store, Low's, and Fleet Farm (all dog-friendly options!)
5. Lake/swimming
6. Interactive games
7. Car rides (while this isn't considered a physical activity, it sure tires them out!)
NOTE: Don't forget training your dog daily will not only help with their overall behavior, but it will tire them out as well!
