Throughout pregnancy, mom receives the best care to insure she is happy, healthy, and ready to bring her babies into the world! This includes vet visits, high quality dog food, nutritional meal toppers, and vitamins to help her and the puppies thrive. During delivery, we insure she is happy and comfortable at all times.
When our puppies turn three days old, we begin ENS (early scent introduction) and ESI (early neurological stimulation) we preform these exercises from days 3-16. ENS has been proven to increase cardiovascular performance, stronger adrenal glands, greater tolerance to stress, and stronger resistance to disease. ESI increases nose awareness and aids in the puppies ability to identify and react to different scents.
Starting at 3 weeks old, we begin the 10 step handling exercises by Janett Forrey. This includes: covering eyes, touching nose, running finger inside mouth, tug on collar, rubbing tummy, patting back, pulling tail, tug on ears, and tapping nails. These handling exercises are crucial for families with small children.
At 3 weeks old we also begin exposing the puppies to different sights, sounds, textures, and obstacles to run though, over, and around. They learn how to conquer new things, which helps build confidence. Our puppies are also given a large variety of healthy challenges to overcome everyday.
When the puppies reach 5 weeks old, we schedule a time with you to come meet and choose your new best friend, (this can be done either in-person, or over a zoom call) IMPORTANT: Puppies are chosen in order of family's place on the waiting list. For example, if you were the third person to place your down-payment, you pick your puppy third.
At 7 weeks old, an official temperament test is conducted for each individual puppy. After temperament tests have been completed, we will send each individual puppy's scorecard out to our GRB families. This is done so you/your family can get a good idea of your future pup's temperament to ensure they are the right fit.
